A holiday invented on the TV Show “Seinfeld”, Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd. For those that don’t like commercialized holidays, “Festivus is for the rest of us”.
Activities on this day include airing of grievances and feats of strengths, admiring your unadorned aluminum “Festivus Pole”, and labeling of easily explained events as “Festivus Miracles”.
Festivus dinner takes place on the evening of Festivus and is when you go around the table telling each person how they have disappointed or let you down over the year. After dinner, the “feats of strengths takes place” in which you wrestle the head of the household. That’s kind of creepy if you’re a 31 year old woman and the head of the household is your friend's perverted, creepy dad. Then again, sitting on an old Santa's lap to tell him what you want is kind of creepy, too.
So what shall one wear on Festivus?
This is a fairly casual holiday that often causes food fights to break out due to the “airing of grievances” practice. Wear a top made of fabric that can be washed easily. Ladies, in case you have to wrestle the creepy head of household, it is wise to wear a padded bra and full coverage all over the body. In other words, no short skirts, dresses, or low cut blouses. Try to look clean cut and sweet so people are nicer to you during the “airing of grievances”.

Happy Festivus!
