Memorial Day, this year, falls on Monday May 28th. Many of us will find ourselves somewhere picinicing, bbqing, pool, lake, or ocean side, toasting to those who have passed before us. Memorial Day also marks the start of the summer vacation season. Vacation all I ever wanted, vacation had to get away.
Regardless of where you end up, the most important thing to consider is WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR?!
Memorial Day, to me, means bring out the white. White slacks, a white sleeveless blouse, and a white clutch would be perfect for a nice dinner that weekend.
Heading to a backyard BBQ? Try to stay cool and comfortable with light, wrinkle free fabrics. If it's hot outside, avoid jeans as they'll make you sweaty and uncomfortable. White can get dirty so you may want to avoid my beloved color for this occasion. A pair of colored denim shorts with a tank and some sandals, a cotton maxi dress, or a chiffon sundress are all great options.
Expecting to find yourself poolside pimpin'? High waist bikini bottoms are back in a major way; which is great for those with a little bit of a belly. Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and a cover-up.
