If there’s one place where anything goes, it’s at the County Fair! Whatever you want to wear should be fine – anything that you don’t want to get wet or dirty!
For ladies or men, jeans or shorts with a tee shirt or basic cotton top, and maybe a sweatshirt tied around your waist in case it gets chilly, is a perfectly stylish and appropriate outfit. You’ll probably want to wear socks and tennis shoes in case you do a great deal of walking, especially since some fairs are held on grassy lots or lawns. We don’t recommend your brand new white pair! Flip flops or a comfortable flat, leather sandal can also work. Again, your shoes (and therefore, your feet) might get very dirty. Women can get away with wearing easy cotton or linen dresses, but be mindful of the length! You don’t want to be tugging at a mini dress or short skirt here!
We don’t recommend wearing your finest jewelry or carrying your designer handbag, though you may want to have your hands free by carrying a shoulder bag. NO FANNY PACKS! A fun wristlet is a better choice, instead!
Don’t forget sunscreen or lip balm because most parks and fairgrounds offer limited shade. You’ll want to bring a lightweight sweater or coat, if you’re staying through the evening, in case temperatures get chilly.
