I have to go to a Sunday afternoon wedding. The invitation calls for a Black Tie Optional dress. Should i chose to wear a dark suit, what color shirt/tie is appropriate.
If you choose to skip the tux and don a suit. I would recommend a black suit, formal black dress shoes, and a white dress shirt and black tie.
Dear Angry Panda, If possible I recommend every man own his own tux. It is worth the investment and beats having to rent! The cummerbund, vest, bow tie type of tux is not really in. Many of the tux's today look like a suit. Being black tie OPTIONAL, they clearly want you to wear your finest suit if you choose to not wear a tux. I would go with a dark suit with a really clean, crisp, white shirt and your favorite tie! Make sure your shoes are polished and scuff free. Does that help?
