I recently discovered the Felicity Brown collection while shopping at Barney’s and instantly fell in love. In researching this newcomer, I discovered that she has designed for Alberta Ferretti, Mulberry, and Lanvin. The Royal College of Art graduate launched out onto her own in Spring/Summer 2010 with a collection of mostly dresses showcasing her meticulous ability to create dimension. Her Fall/Winter 2010 collection was no disappointment, this collection more wearable for the everyday woman and resembling a painting so rich in color you are tempted to touch it to see if it is still wet.
Felicity has a serious attention to detail with intricate ruffled and pleated designs in hand dyed silks. Her construction and color composition is genius and you can’t help but just want fall into her clothes like you would a flower filled meadow. It is pure beauty with romance painted into every piece. As www.youngbritishdesigners.com described her collection, “these are the dresses girlhood dreams are made of. In a very grown up sexy way.” We couldn’t agree more!
We will definitely be keeping our eyes on this London based designer and cannot wait to see what’s next!
