Lauren Cameron Pratt, a Manhattan resident who grew up on Huntington Beach, Long Island, looks out at the seemingly endless horizon and sees the potential of her career reflected in it.
Lauren graduated from New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in advertising design and an Associate’s of Applied Science in communication design. While at FIT, she interned at Deutsch, Inc. and established herself as a freelance designer, which gave her the chance to gain an independent work ethic and develop a strong rapport with clients. During the year of her graduation, several of her works were selected to appear in CMYK's magazine, Lurzer's Int'l Archive website, and The One Show Student Exhibit. Since her graduation, Lauren has been working as an Art Director and Designer.
One of her designs is a line called BoyfriendBags, which hold the baggage – no, not the bad kind – of our daily lives. You can always count on BoyfriendBags to carry your daily essentials: lip gloss, gum, cash and whatever else you just can’t get through the day without. Unlike boyfriends, with BoyfriendBags you never have to worry about infidelity and can even share them with your friends! BoyfriendBags will always be there by your side and can (and should!) be flaunted at every occasion.
BoyfriendBags are all one-of-a-kind, custom-made, and personalized by stories of support, advice, betrayals, confessions and, untold secrets. From clutches to bigger bags, BoyfriendBags have a vintage feel with an urban spin and range in price from $55 to $375. If you want to be fashionable but also want to be green, you’ll be pleased to know that all the materials and hardware used to make BoyfriendBags are purchased from second-hand stores. If you ever make a donation to a second-hand store near you, don’t be surprised if you see it again one day – in the incarnation of a stylish and unique BoyfriendBag.
