Happy days, happy days!! I have been a lover of capes from childhood. Sure my first one was a blanket and I was a superhero saving my neighborhood from all things evil, but my passion for capes never left. I remember my mother being pregnant with my younger sister in 1980(back in the day when cool pregnant clothes did not exist) and she had three different outfits made for her with matching capes. People would stop her in the streets and ask her where she got her outfits.

A cape is an article of clothing that you slip on to feel instantly cool and glamorous. The great thing is that if you only have five minutes to get ready and most everything is in the hamper the cape will save you. Thrown it on with a pair of jeans and a long sleeved tee and salvation is here! For an extra bit of power, wear it with a pencil skirt, practically any top, grab some leather gloves and you will instantly feel a part of New York Fashion Week. Yes, my lovelies, it is that simple and that versatile. You can buy them short (caplet style) or long. I found the best ones are the ones with arm holes. This is because you don’t have to take them off in order to do anything like eat, dance, or grocery shop.
The fantastic thing is that anyone can afford them this season. They are being sold everywhere from Express to Lanvin. So no matter what your budget you can cape out! Again, I am a firm believer in buying things that you can keep wearing year after year and believe me when I tell you that this is a piece you will find yourself loving for an eternity.
