It's that time of year again...we are heading into Spring '10 trends and one of our favorite up and coming looks this season are hot pants and boy shorts! Now, we must warn you, if you are planning on sporting this look and haven't been into a gym...well-we suggest you go. This is a very unforgiving look and toned bodies are a must!
We understand that many of you can't even grasp the concept of Spring right now (let alone hot pants), considering most people are in 40 below weather....Except for us Wardrobe Wire girls, we live in California where it's always 78 degrees and sunny. But in true fashion, we must tell you in advance so you can add it to your list of serious things to ponder for the next few months.
For the risk taking fashionista, hot pants are the way to go. Look for shorts with a negative hemline that curve up the outer thigh and the back should follow the shape of your bum. This style looks great paired with a boy blazer or loose fitting blouse.
For those who aren't quite as daring, boy shorts are the way to go. This style, although similar to hot pants just not as short, should have a hemline that travels no more than 2 inches down your thigh. They should hug your figure, especially around the rear, but please be conscious of the dreaded "camel toe," not a cute look.
We here at Wardrobe Wire are predicting that the top selling hot pants and boy shorts this season will be in black or ivory/bone colored leather. It won't look too "tarty" as if you are working the streets or wearing your kid sisters clothes. Also, you must wear this style with heels! The higher the better for maximum sex appeal! Steer clear of shirts that are too form fitting as it won't balance well with the minimal fabric of the shorts.
