I know…just when you thought the 80’s were leaving, fashion goes behind your back and brings in tie-dye. We spotted this trend awhile ago on jeans, but it was also on the Spring Runways in skirts, dresses, shorts, pants, and tanks. If you’re looking for something fun to add to your summer wardrobe, go for it. The looks from Calvin Klein and Tory Burch are for the less daring and if you are feeling your youth and the need to completely relive the trend, Blumarine and Proenza Schouler are more for you. Other designers include Ports 1961, Lela Rose, Alice & Olivia, and Elizabeth & James
The trend has been slowly creeping into the mainstream, for a while, with celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Ashley Tisdale, and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosia all spotted in tie-dye. This is a trend I don’t see lasting longer than this summer, so if you love it, enjoy it while it lasts, and if you hate it, rest assured it won’t be long until the next 80’s trend appears. Hypercolor anyone?!?! You know you remember!!!
Where to shop? Forever 21 has a couple pieces, Nordstrom has quite a few in the mid to high price range, and Barney’s and NetAPorter.com have many of the designers listed above.
