Suspenders are a style that anyone can wear and everyone can afford. This is one of those trends that you don’t have to be a certain body type for and it won’t burn a hole in your wallet either. I know, go ahead and get excited! Suspenders have always been around when it comes to men’s suits, but they haven’t always been around as a trend for both men and women to wear more casually. They have slowly been creeping their way onto fashion radars the past couple of years but are just starting to find their full stride. They have recently been spotted on everyone from hip-hop artists like Andre 3000 and Kanye West and singers Fergie and Beyonce to actress Drew Barrymore and model Agyness Deyn.
Suspenders can be worn with trousers, slacks, skirts, jeans, and shorts. Also great when paired with a dress shirt, casual button down shirt, or your basic t-shirts and tank tops. They’re appropriate at the office and on the dance floor and are a great addition to your casual weekend outfit. Suspenders are extremely versatile! I prefer a wider width on men and the skinnier version on women, but try both sizes on and go with what you feel best in. They come in a plethora of colors and prints, but I would suggest just picking a solid color to test the trend out. But always remember, if you are wearing suspenders, do not wear a belt! That will never be in style….
