Beauty is Skin Deep: Interview with Dallas Media Personality, Victoria Snee.

Clip This

Wardrobe Wire’s favorite Dallas fashionista, Jessica Millek, was kind enough to set us up with another AMAZING person to interview for our site. Victoria Snee is a famous media personality in Dallas. She is co-host on The Morning MIX 102.9, was voted one of Dallas’ most beautiful women, is a prolific philanthropist, and (what we’re most excited about) has upcoming book on beauty tips. Read on to learn everything about Victoria, from Victoria!

1.Tell us about your book that is coming out and when we can get our hands on it?

I am super excited about my new book, The Beauty Buzz: No More Beauty B.S. For nearly 4 years now, I have been giving beauty advice on MIX 102.9 where I also co-host the morning drive show. Our listeners have emailed me over the years, asking me to write a book with all of my tips and advice. I finally did it, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it. The book will be available in December but you can pre-order it now on my website www.beautybuzzbook.com
2. What inspired you to make this book and who is your target audience?

The MIX 102.9 listeners really inspired me to write this book. I have loved answering their beauty questions over the years. I especially love when they email me back and tell me that a piece of advice I have given them really worked! That makes me feel great. That’s why I do it—to help women. My target audience is really women of all ages. There is something for everyone in this book.

3.We understand that you do a lot of charity work in the Dallas area. Can you share with us some of this work?

There are so many organizations that are doing wonderful things to help the DFW community. I am currently on the steering committee for the Genesis Women’s Shelter’s annual fundraising luncheon that is happening next May. The Genesis Women’s Shelter does such amazing work and helps women who have been in physically and emotionally abusive situations to get back on their feet. I am also involved with Attitudes and Attire, which is an organization that also helps women. Many of the women they help are coming out of abusive relationships or are re-entering society after leaving prison. These women need help finding jobs and going on interviews, and Attitudes and Attire helps give these women the tools they need to find success in their new lives.

4. Everyone knows that beauty is only skin deep. How does the charity work you’re involved in make you feel internally beautiful?

It is so important that we get involved whenever, wherever and however we can. So many of us are blessed with wonderful families and friends and there are so many people who are alone and need our help. I think anytime you give back it helps not only those who need it, but it reminds you that we are all on this Earth together and we really only have each other. The most beautiful women I know are the ones who give of themselves the most. They have an inner glow that is unmistakable!

5. Speaking of beauty, what beauty product(s) must you have in your purse at all times?

There are 5 things that I always keep with me at all times—lip gloss (I am a gloss addict!), a powder compact, a good mirror, blotting papers (for any excess shine) and dental floss! There is nothing worse than walking around all day with some of your lunch left over in your teeth—especially when no one tells you!

6. What do you think is the biggest beauty NO?

I think my biggest pet peeve is dark lip liner with a lighter shade of lipstick. This is not a good look and I still see some women doing this.

7. What’s your favorite part of your job?

Definitely laughing! I have such a fun job being on the radio everyday and I work with two really great, funny guys. I love to laugh and we laugh all the time. I love it!

8. Describe the style of the women and men in Dallas- dress wise.

I love how women in Dallas are always put together and take a lot of pride in their fashion sense and there is GREAT fashion sense here! How could there not be when you have the headquarters for Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas! Fashion is a wonderful expression of who you are and I am always excited to see people who are not afraid to embrace it. And don’t think I forgot about the guys. There is nothing better than a man who looks like he gave his outfit some thought and didn’t just grab whatever he had in his closet that happened to be clean that morning! Also, who wouldn’t enjoy making a trip to Barneys to shop with Jessica Millek? If you live in Dallas you should pay her a visit!

9. Other than never giving up, what advice can you give women trying to “make it” in the entertainment and media world.

My best advice--take any opportunity given to you in the industry. One of my first jobs out of college was to work as a writer on FOX 4’s morning show. My hours were 2am-10am. Talk about a brutal schedule! It certainly wasn’t what I wanted to be doing at the time, but I knew it was a foot in the door. That’s all you need, because as soon as you get that foot in, then you can really show them what you’re made of!

Thank You, Victoria! Wardrobe Wire can’t wait to follow your work in years to come. Thanks for reminding us of the true definition of beauty. Stay beautiful!
