The Question

Being a realtor and working in the field creates a problem for dressing. I often am in and out of the car about 8 times in a couple of hours. Right now it is hot aned humid. I go from the air conditioned car to the outside, and sometimes to a house with the little or no air conditioning. How do I dress?

Thank you so much. Love the shoes. I also like the idea of a wrap dress and I never thought of the baby powder in my shoes. Thanks for the suggestions.

I throw a light weight sweater or scarf in my bag every single day. It is easy to go from air conditioning to heat quickly. I would also recommend a cute pair of flats for summer since you are getting in and out of the car so much. DSW has some great flats for good deals. I included some pics.

A wrap dress (think DVF) would be great!

Carry a light wrap or cardigan that you can toss around your shoulders if you get chilly indoors. Try wrinkle free fabrics such as synthetic or natural fibers. Pick up some wrinkle release spray that you can keep in your car. Check out these options: http://tinyurl.com/27zsrpf. Also, keep Deodorant in your car and maybe even a facial mist to freshen up with during the day. Baby powder works great to absorb sweat too. You can put it in your shoes and in body crevices that you find seem to get extra sweaty.

It is much harder for guys to dress cool AND professional than it is for women. Women can wear a skirt or dress that allows for their legs to breathe. Men are pretty much stuck with pants, but can opt for lighter fabrics and then wear a polo shirt if the environment allows for it.

Shoe wise, wear something comfortable like a driving moccasin and put baby powder in the bottom. Maybe carry a dressier shoe if need be.

Hope that helps! Now, go make some sales so you can invest in Wardrobe Wire. I kid, I kid!
