Casual summer shoes aren't easy to pick for guys in the summer time. But if you are looking for a great combination shoe that is great for walking around and get still get you into the lounges in Chicago later on... I recommend the following:

Sneakers from Diesel or Puma. They both have some great new styles, especially the washed sneaker look thats retro and great looking! They can take you from your house, to the beach to the bar... and anywhere in between without emptying your pocketbook.

Boat shoes ( think Docksiders with no socks), TOMS Shoes, Converse, classic Adidas, etc. Personally, flip flops are meant for the beach or pool. If you have some extra money to spend, check out Ralph Lauren's shoes. WHATEVER you do, DO NOT wear the following: Birkenstocks, Teva's, or Doc Martin's.
