Recipient of The Best Kept Town award in 2007, Killarney is a popular tourist destination due to its location on the Ring of Kerry, national park, and lush golf course. Killarney is home to the Irish Open, so many of the tourists and locals wear golf attire. That certainly doesn’t mean you have to follow suit, but it wouldn’t hurt to dress a bit on the conservative side.
Loose-fitting blazers with a light underpinning or sweater with a scarf work nicely with the weather. Temperatures are cool with drizzle on and off throughout the day. The sun will appear, so layers are a good idea. A comfortable trouser or fitted pant/jeans will work for making your way around the Ring of Kerry. You will want to wear comfortable shoes or boots depending on the type of pants you choose to wear. Stay away from bright, flashy colors here. Stick to primary colors and pastels.
You will also want to carry a handbag large enough for your umbrella, a small makeup bag for touchups, sunglasses, wallet, and scarf. Accessories should be kept simple and minimal. It’s a lovely town with a lot to see and do. Enjoy the adventure!
