If you are going to the White House you should definitely dress conservatively. That doesn't mean stuffy though! A simple black or navy pencil skirt and a white blouse with closed toe heels would work universally anytime of the year. Or a sleek knee length dress that's not too low in the front.

OK, so now that the Obama's are in the White House, it's out with the stuffy, drab attire of the days of yore, and in with the chic new hottness! Michelle Obama has unabashedly made her mark on the mundane beaurocracy that IS Washington DC, it's time for you to do the same! Just because you are hitting up the White House, doesn't mean you have to wear black, white, or navy blue (the typical uniform for Capitol Hill drones). Remember Michelle's inaugural outfit? Don't be afraid to whip out the color! Are you going in the summertime? DC is HOT, and I'm not talking about the sexy kind of hot. We are talking upwards of 100 degrees, no wind; so dress accordingly. EVERYWHERE in DC is super-airconditioned, so try a nice colorful graphic print skirt (not TOO short, we don't need a new Lewinsky), with a nice tank and a 3/4 length cardigan, paired with a sweet pair of ballet flats. Keep it classy, after all this IS the center of the free world, but if you wear it with confidence, who knows, we could be swearing YOU into the White House fashion hall-of-fame! Good luck, and tell Barack I said HEEEYYY!!!
